40 year old Jeanette Marie Cardinal found murdered in Edmonton

The deceased female discovered at 119 Avenue and 81 Street on Monday, Feb, 7 has been identified as Jeanette Marie Cardinal, 40. Homicide detectives continue to investigate.

Suspicious death deemed homicide:

Upon completion of an autopsy, the medical examiner has determined the death of a 40 year-old female found at 119 Avenue and 81 Street to be a homicide. Cause of death is not being released at this time.

At approximately 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 8, 2011 downtown patrol officers responded to a call reporting a sudden death of a 40 year-old female at 119 Avenue and 81 Street.

During the initial review of evidence, patrol members determined the death of the woman to be suspicious, and notified EPS Homicide Section to take over the investigation, as they do with all suspicious deaths.

The scene has been secured, the autopsy is being completed this afternoon and detectives continue to investigate.
