Two men arrested for shooting a 18 year old in Toronto

On Wednesday, Janaury 16, 2011, at 1:45 a.m., police responded to a call for a shooting in the Donlands Avenue/Danforth Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

– a 18-year-old man was at bar on Danforth Avenue,

– three men then surrounded the man,

– one of the men pulled out a handgun,

– the victim was shot in the stomach,

– the men then fled the scene.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Orginally it was reported the shooting occurred at Donlands subway station but police later found out the shooting happened at a bar in the Donlands Avenue/Danforth Avenue.

On Thursday, February 17, 2011, police executed five search warrants in the GTA.

It is further alleged that:

– police seized a gun holster and other related evidence.

– police also arrested two men.

Akins Fortune, 22, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Attempted murder while using certain firearm,
2) Aggravated assault,
3) Conspiracy to commit indictable offence,
4) Disarming a Peace Officer,
5) Obstruct Peace Officer,
6) Assaulting a peace officer.

Kibrom Tesfay, 18, of Toronto,

1) Attempted murder while using certain firearm,
2) Discharge firearm endanger life,
3) Aggravated assault,
4) Conspiracy to commit indictable offence,
5) Fail to comply Recognizance.

Shaun Davis, 28, of Toronto, is wanted for:

1) Attempted murder while using certain firearm,
2) Aggravated assault,
3) Conspiracy to commit indictable offence.

He is described as black, 5’8", 140 lbs, black hair.

He is to be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call police.
