Investigators from the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau will be obtaining a warrant of arrest for a suspect alleged to have been involved a dangerous driving incident and police pursuit.

On Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at approximately 7:02 a.m., Peel Police responded to the area of Central Parkway East and Eglinton Avenue East, for a suspicious vehicle. On arrival, officers located a stolen vehicle, being operated by the suspect. The vehicle proceeded to strike several cars, including police cruisers and flee the area. A decision was made not to pursue the vehicle in the interests of public safety.

A warrant will be sought for the arrest of Anthony SIMAS, a 33 year-old male of No Fixed Address. A picture of the suspect can be viewed by clicking on the following link [Simas].

The warrant will be for a series of dangerous driving related charges.

He is described as male, white, 5’6” – 5’8” tall, with a medium build and black hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket.
