This Thursday an FIR was lodged against the former chief minister, Lalu Prasad’s daughter Misha Bharti, who is a candidate contesting for the Patliputra Lok Sabha constituency. The FIR was lodged for forcibly entering a polling booth and then allegedly damaging an EVM machine. The polling booth presiding officer at Dehri village was behind the FIR which was based on his written complaint.

“Misha Bharti went to the polling booth despite the fact she was not a voter which led to ruckus at polling booth no. 34,” the Deputy Election Commissioner Alok Pandey informed. Misha Bharti has denied these allegations claiming them to be baseless. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) spokesperson Manoj Jha said that a counter-FIR will be lodged against him as he claimed that he alleged manhandled the party candidate and also made an attempt to snatch her mobile phone. Seven Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar went to the polls this Thursday in the second of the six-phased parliamentary elections for 40 seats in the state. The turnout for these seven constituencies turned out to be approximately 51.73 percent in Bihar.

Bharti, who holds an MBBS degree from the Patna University, already has a case registered against her under Sections 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) and 171 (F) (Punishment for undue influence or personation at an election) of Indian Penal Code and being heard in a Danapur court, her affidavit said.
