Peel Police - Tenth Annual "Race Against Racism"

The Peel Regional Police Diversity Relations Unit will be hosting its tenth annual “Race Against Racism” on Saturday, June 19, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. The race will be located at the Mississauga Valley Community Centre (park areas A-E), located in downtown Mississauga.

This 5 km. run/walk is for everyone from the competitive runner, to those who just want to come out to walk and have fun. The run/walk will be followed by awards to the top two finishers in a variety of age groups, lots of free ethnic food and great entertainment, including multicultural dancers, singers and a D.J. The event will conclude at 4:00 pm.

The first 500 registrants will receive a free t-shirt. There will also be free door prizes, community booth displays and face painting for children. The entry fee for participants is $5.00 for youths 17 and under, $5.00 for seniors 60 years and over, and $10.00 for adults between the ages of 18 and 59 years of age.

Be sure to register early as these costs will increase if registration is done the day of the event. Registration begins at 8:45 a.m., if registering the day of the race.
