Hollywood Bowl (Hollywood, CA)
10-time Grammy-winning salsa singer Ruben Blades hits the Hollywood Bowl with a heck of an opening act — Maestro Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Philharmonic. The always entertaining Dudamel leads the Phil in a Latin-themed performance of Mexican composer Arturo Marquez’s Danzons Nos. 4 and 8, as well as a series of Symphonic Tangos by award-winning Argentine Emilio Kauderer. Next up, singer-songwriter Blades takes the historic stage. This longtime favorite is not only a Latin jazz superstar who’s recorded more than 50 albums, including 2014’s Tangos, but he’s also a Panamanian politician, Harvard Law grad and a well-respected actor who’s starred in close to 40 films. He recently announced a farewell tour for 2015, so catch him while you can at this legendary outdoor amphitheater.
