Glendale Youth Orchestra's 26th Season Opener

The Glendale Youth Orchestra celebrates over a quarter-century of presenting the world’s best music performed by some of the area’s most talented young performers. Led by conductor Brad Keimach, the orchestra kicks off their 26th season with a performance at the historic Alex Theatre. The program includes Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture, Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto, 1st movement (performed by Lavinia Chen, violin), Mozart’s Symphony No. 35 Haffner and Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 1. Seventeen-year-old Lavinia Chen is the concertmaster and president of the Tri-City Orchestra for Alhambra Unified School District. She won the Outstanding Musicianship Award for the Forum Music Festival in San Francisco in 2014.
