Jesse and the Dandelions has been active in Western Canada for the last 5 years with success on campus community radio, and great opening slots for bands like Attack In Black, Hollerado, and July Talk. With Jesse and the Dandelions’ production values maturing alongside the content, their album A Mutual Understanding (2013) is enriched with classic synth and drum machine textures that pays respect to the past, while forging their own unique path forward. String sections and heavily layered vocal harmonies push accessible pop hooks into more psychedelically complex and intriguing harmonic territory that rewards repeat listeners by continuing to engage them fully with each spin.

Jen Lane’s new album has found her in a harmonious place where the world of country, roots, folk and americana music intertwine. “This Life of Mine” is a strong statement by an artist who is now comfortable in her own creative skin and able to honestly, and with great passion and depth, sing about the ups and downs of life – and in the process attract music lovers who appreciate heartfelt emotion, beautiful songs and words that inspire and affirm.

Autopilot’s original sound encompasses a wide range of musical influence while incorporating layers of guitar effects and dynamic drum beats. Unafraid to experiment with sound, the band’s progressive style includes captivating pop hooks, memorable vocal lines, and out of the ordinary touches like a bow used on the guitar.

Micah Visser

Born out of unsuspecting Winnipeg, Manitoba comes Micah Visser. A solo project as complex and diverse as the city it came from. First receiving attention with a few scrappy EPs, and eventually garnering serious acclaim for the “haunting sketch of youth”, ok night.

Basic Nature is a prairiegaze duo from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Their musical influence for their debut album Circles & Lines stems primarily from Slowdive’s album Souvlaki and have been compared to different groups including Lush, Beach House and Warpaint.

The Dudes are legit. They make rock songs that come from the most closely guarded vaults of the emotional banks. They sing about the triumph of good over no good. They trumpet the march of the working class lady. They tell stories of love gained and lost, knife fights, cops and kindness. The dudes want you to see them play live. They would like you to laugh and dance. After the show, they want to give you a high five. Matt will teach you a special handshake. Bob will ask you for your phone number. They used to have a brown van that took them across canada thrice. Now its paid the price. She’s sitting along the highway at a petrocan in Winnipeg and the last they checked, the doors were still unlocked. You know, if you want to go sit in it or something. Soon they will come to your town in a blue van. Will you be there? Maybe sleep on your floor?
