Younis MauritaniaThe army has announced that a leading al-Qaeda leader, along with two other high-ranking operatives, have been under arrest in southwest of Pakistan for the global terror network.

Younis al Mauritani, a man who was concerned in planning and executing international operations, was targeted under the crosshair and was arrested in the suburbs of the southwestern area of Quetta, as the military highlighted today in a report.

Younis al Mauritani was tasked personally by Osama bin Laden "to focus on hitting objectives of economic importance in United States of America, Europe and Australia," with U.S. targets including oil pipelines and gas, oil tankers and dams, was also marked by Pakistani military.

Bin Laden’s deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, became leader of Al Qaeda after the death of Osama Bin Ladin. That operation took place in May but in August the officials confirmed that Zawahiri’s second-in-command, Atiya Abdul Rahman, was murdered in Pakistan.

According to U.S. official, Rahman was in charge of running daily operations for the group. This man was previously chief of bin Laden’s operations.

This was a very sensitive operation to breack the backbone of Al Qaeda which was carried out with the assistance of American intelligence agencies.

The report said Younis al Mauritani had been tasked by Osama bin Laden to target Western economic interests worldwide
