Ottawa AirportLucky day for Ottawa, zero causality after a plane dangerously slid off the landing strip at the Ottawa International Airport Sunday afternoon.

According to Trans States Airlines, there were total 47 people on board, including passengers and crew members. During the landing process, the plane bunged into a green area around 3:30 p.m. Fortunately, all 47 lives at risk remained unharmed.

According to Ottawa Fire Services spokesperson Marc Messier, the plane went through "substantial" break down, with one of their haz-mat squad assisting airport crews with a fuel trickle beneath the plane.

Messier reportedly said: "The airport fire crews are quite quick at putting down foam and containing the fuel spill. The foam blankets the fuel, acts a blanket to prevent the fuel from being ignited."

According to the Ottawa fire crews, the plan was an Embraer 145, a local aircraft with a capacity of 50 people.

According to the United Express, it was one of their flights, controlled by the Missouri-based Trans States Airlines. It was landing after an express flight from Chicago. In response, the Trans States said they won’t investigate into what made the plane skid.

One of the passengers onboard reportedly said: "We clearly ran out of runway and the next thing we know we went off the runway to the left hand side. No

one was freaking out. When the plane stopped moving it was quiet.

People were trying to figure out what to do next."

Messier said Transport Canada will be handling the investigation.
