Pilots of Kingfisher have once again announced not to fly due to the backtracking of the management after making several promises of pays being disbursed. The strike which was initiated by the pilots of Air India after the Monday-Tuesday night shift has now entered its third day.
Pilots argue that the management had promised them to pay their salaries starting from January to 9th May, but they once again could not stand by their promise and it is becoming utterly difficult for them to manage their household with no salaries for months. The exact number of pilots taking part in the protest is unknown. However, the strike has once again hit the airlines negatively as several international flights of Kingfisher are being cancelled on daily basis as pilots refuse to return to work.
The airlines is reporting continuous losses since it was inaugurated in 2005 under the ownership of Vijay Malya and is now facing millions of Indian rupees in debt. The airline has been facing disturbing routine and financial crunch for almost a year, getting debt every time it lands into trouble. The government had previously announced to not help the airline but is now giving the airlines a loan to make sure it remains operational. The announcement of the loan sanctioned to Kingfisher was made by Ajit Singh.
Kingfisher staff registered their protest to the media saying, “The management had said that it would start giving January salaries from May 9 onwards. However, it has backtracked on its commitment.”
