There has not been any concrete revelation in the investigation of serial bomb blasts that shook the foundations of Bodh Gaya on Sunday. A series of blasts leveled the Mahabodhi temple in Bihar and injured two monks on the weekend.

Although Indian Mujahideen have claimed responsibility through their social media accounts, the investigating squad remains determined in following their own leads and catching the main culprits. Pursuing the investigation and disregarding all other claims could imply that either Mujahideen are losing their credibility or that Indian investigators are hopeful of finding more than just the plotters.

“Three FIRs were lodged Tuesday night in Bodh Gaya police station on the basis of the statement of a staff of Bodh Gaya Temple Management Committee, a Buddhist monk and a police official. Now, the main focus of NIA (National Investigation Agency) is on six suspects, including a woman, who were detained from Patna and Gaya and interrogated by the them, and some suspects caught on CCTV footage,” Gaya Superintendent of Police Ganesh Kumar said.

The NIA has also announced reward money of Rs.10 lakhs for provision of any relevant information regarding the suspects. Although the CCTV footage has presented a clear picture of how the suspects entered the temple but the video quality is extremely poor.

“Poor CCTV footage also has complicated the ongoing investigation,” NIA official said.
