The new Chief Justice of Pakistan, Nasir-ul-Mulk will take his oath this Sunday. The Chief Justice-designate Nasir-ul-Mulk said that all the institutions of Pakistan should work within their constitutional ambit and should not interfere in the administrative matters of each other. He said, however, the courts can intervene if institutions don’t work properly and within their required boundaries.

This Friday witnessed a full court reference in the honor of the Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jilani who will retired after being the Chief Justice of Pakistan for a period of seven months since December, after the retirement of Iftikhar Chaudary. Justice Jilani retires this Saturday. While addressing the the judges and lawyers, the outgoing Chief Justice of Pakistan Tassaduq Hussain Jillani said that democracy can not survive until and unless the judiciary is independent. He said that the old traditional judiciary has been buried forever. He also that he tried to remove as many thorns as he could while completing his term of seven months.

Speaking on the same occasion, the Chief Justice designate Nasir-ul-Mulk paid tributes to the outgoing Chief Justice for his meritorious services to uphold the rule of law and dispensation of justice. All judges of the Apex court including senior lawyers attended the full court reference according to a local media house.
