ACLUThe American Civil Liberties Union has yet again filed a law suit against the Florida government, this time on the basis of the recently introduced Florida law that direct all welfare beneficiaries to go through a drug test, the funding of which is to be done by the applicant himself. ACLU has stated that this law is in direct violation with the constitutional rights of individuals as it comes under unreasonable search and seizure.

The law was introduced by Rick Scott as part of his campaign promises. Previously, Scott had also made the same test mandatory for the state employees. The ACLU had sued him for this law under the same context.

The lawsuit against the Florida Government was filed due to the complain of a welfate applicant, Mr. Luis Lebron, who is also a Navy Veteran with children and is presently studying. Lebron had given a heated argument saying ““It’s insulting and degrading that people think I’m using drugs just because I need a little help to take care of my family while I finish up my education.”
