On October 28, 2011, 65-year-old Raymond Joseph White pleaded guilty to two counts of second degree murder in connection with the 1995 deaths of 37-year-old Mary Lou Barnes and her 12-year-old son Larry William Mills Jr.

Mr. White was charged in April 2010 with two counts of first degree murder for their deaths. He initially pleaded not guilty to the charges. The change of plea comes after a week of voir-dire testimony into the murders.

Mary Lou Barnes and Larry Mills Jr. were found dead in their home inMoc British Settlement, N.B., near Sackville, on November 6, 1995.

Raymond White is scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court for sentencing on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at 10:30 a.m.

Update: A Moncton judge has given 65-year-old Raymond Joseph White a life sentence with no chance of parole for at least 15 years, in connection with a double murder committed 16 years ago.
