On April 26, 2010 Ronald Joseph Fagan appeared in Court of Queen’s Bench in Moncton to receive his sentence in relation to Operation Joséphine, an under cover police operation into prostitution related activities at the former Miss Behavin Exotic Dance Club, located at 797 Mountain Road in Moncton.

"Operation Josephine was part of our on-going efforts to curb prostitution related activities in our community." explains Cpl. Blake Keirstead of the Codiac Regional RCMP Street Crime Unit. "This should send a clear message that exploiting and profiting of women is illegal and there are serious consequences in doing so. There are many collateral victims such as other family members and people who care for these women. The profits go to the people running such businesses, while many of the women suffer."

This operation begun as a result of public complaints about the illegal activities in that establishment and information received by various police and law enforcement agencies.

The 51-year-old Dieppe resident was found guilty of keeping a common bawdy house and living of the avails of prostitution after a trial that began in May 2009 before Justice Zoël Dionne in Court of Queens Bench.

Judge Dionne sentenced Ronald Joseph Fagan to 1 year in jail followed by 18 months of probation and a $100 victim fine surcharge for living of the avails of prostitution. He also received a $3000 fine and a $450 victim fine surcharge for keeping a common bawdy house. He must also submit DNA samples as ordered by the Court.
