It has been officially confirmed by The Ontario Provincial Police that the Amber Alert put in place for an abducted nine-year-old boy has now been cancelled, even though the child has not yet been found yet. Police claims to have located the car that was being sought in connection to the alleged abduction, though the missing child, Joseluis Resendiz, was not found in it.

It was explained that the Amber Alert has been cancelled in light of a new piece of information received by Niagara police, as it says “this is a matter still under investigation as the child still has not been located.” Police explained that Joseluis Resendiz was abducted by his estranged mother, 40-year-old Tivisay Rojas-Castano, and uncle, 36-year-old Edison Rojas-Castano, from Marineland. Police is now searching for a beige 2007 Mazda MCX that has an Ontario licence plate BRAV 280 as the culprits are suspected to have fled in it. Police spokesperson for Niagara Regional Police, Const. Derek Watson, mentioned in a tweet on Thursday morning that “the boy and mother were seen in the area of Hurontario / Dundas street Mississauga last night at 9:15.”

Police allegedly witnessed the child, along with his guilty relatives, at an ATM, after which Const. Watson explains that they met again at the amusement park on Wednesday as he called it a “well-planned” abduction. Const. Watson stated that “they end up meeting the biological mother, and at some point throughout the day, the biological mother and Joseluis’ uncle then detached themselves from the group.”
