In case you are intending to tweet about buying, selling or using drugs, be carefully to check if you have mentioned police on Twitter in the past. A resident of the Greater Toronto Area, identified as Sunith Baheerathan on Twitter handle @Sunith_DB8R, encountered such interaction with Police on Tuesday when he tweeted “any dealers in Vaughan wanna make a 20sac chop? Come to Keele/Langstaff Mr. Lube, need a spliff.”

Even though Police might have never come across his tweet in routine, but since he previously mentioned @YRP, i.e. “York Regional Police,” in an unrelated tweet, his latest tweet caught their attention. The tweet prompted police to click on Baheerathan’s profile that lead to Const. Blair McQuillan witnessing his latest, and now, infamous tweet. Const. McQuillan explained that “this person made a request for a drug dealer or a drug trafficker to attend their place of business, but no actual offence had taken place at that time,” and so he “decided a lighthearted approach would be best.”

Consequently, in attempt of a “lighthearted approach” he jokingly replied to the tweet asked if he could tag along for the drop. Police tweeted: “Awesome! Can we come too? MT @Sunith_DB8R Any dealers in Vaughan wanna make a 20sac chop? Come to Keele/Langstaff Mr. Lube, need a spliff.” Soon after the incident, the tweet went viral as it was retweeted by more than 2,700 times in the first 24 hours. Soon after, Baheerathan’s username was also started trending in the Toronto area until Tuesday night.
