B.C. Premier Christy Clark has directly intervened to weigh in over the dispute between her provincial government and the province’s teachers through a message posted on Twitter on Sunday night. The statement was issued at a time when negations with the public school teachers had failed once again on Saturday night, removing any possibility of classes starting on Tuesday.

In her remarks, Ms. Clark mentioned that “unfortunately, the BCTF (BC Teachers’ Federation) rejected our offer to reopen schools while the two sides enter mediation to reach an agreement. Instead, the BCTF is sticking to its strike and demanding twice as much money as everyone else in the public service has received.” According to a statement issued on Twitter, “that’s not fair for the 150,000 dedicated women and men who have reached long-term agreements with affordable raises.” Whereas, Education Minister Peter Fassbender mentioned in response that he is disappointed for students, parents and teachers. Fassbender stated on Saturday that “what should be a time of excitement and anticipation will instead be marked by frustration and uncertainty.”

Whereas on the other hand, BCTF president Jim Iker mentioned that that the government “put up new roadblocks and refused to compromise.” Iker alleged that “once again, the B.C, Liberals want to keep the necessary funding that students need out of B.C.’s public education system.” According to a statement issued on Saturday, “not only is government insisting on something they know perfectly well teachers can not accept, they are refusing to make any compromises in their position.”

  1. Usually after summer vacation teachers ask the kcomment_IDs to write about what they dcomment_ID in the summer. Here is my version of what Mr. Peter Fassbender and what Ms Christy Clark and even Mr. Jim Iker dcomment_ID.

Here’s Peter’s version: I had a great time sticking it to the teachers of BC. I even dcomment_ID it to the parents and public. First of all in July when that white haired kindergarten teacher kept asking for meetings with my steely negotiator Peter Cameron I told Cameron to stall the guy and do nothing. I then went on tv and radio and told everyone that I was available 24/7 (isn’t that a great word) and the public bought it. Then a couple of weeks go by and you have to pretend that you care so I told Cameron to arrange one meeting only for early August just to “show” we were bargaining 24/7 (love that word!). Of course I told him to say NO to everything because that’s FAIR right? So of course things went my way and nothing got done. So more time goes by and back I go on tv and radio. I know you’re going to remind me there was supposed to be a blackout on talking to the media but that’s another meaningless word I love to toss around. I went on tv and blamed it all on Iker. I’m such a good bully. Then I told parents about the forty dollars that I am now going to TAX most of it back at the end of this. That’s another word I love. I even told them about the website where they can register. Get how sneaky I am. At the website I even get to attack teachers again. I’m such a good bully. Then at the end of last week I summoned (another impressive word) Iker to the Legislature because it’s such an impressive building and I got to do my pretend I care to the public scene again. I told Iker he could send the teachers back to work while we pretended – oops – mediated with Vince Ready. I can’t understand how he dcomment_IDn’t buy my spin. Everyone else is. Then we had the Vince Ready thing where I got to say NO to everything but go back on tv and spin, spin. Gosh I had a great summer. As for the kcomment_IDs not being back in school, what do I care? As for the parents, they can pay for daycare? As for me, I’m going to go back on tv and tell everyone it’s Iker’s fault. What socks should I wear?

Here’s Christy’s version: I dumped water over my head and tweeted about vodka and the BC Lions. What strike?

Here’s Iker’s version: I worked hard all summer trying to get kcomment_IDs back in school in September. I WAS there 24/7 but the government wasn’t. I tried to get a fair deal from government for teachers and kcomment_IDs. I dcomment_IDn’t break the blackout rule. I behaved with integrity and dignity.

Which one should get the A+?
