Last year, after the stupendous success of Neerja, Sonam Kapoor revealed about being a part of a chick flick Veere Di Wedding in which she was paired alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan for the first time. After the film faced delay due to leading lady Kareena’s maternity break, the film has fallen prey to rumours wherein reports claim that Ekta Kapoor, one of the producers of the film, is contemplating on backing out. However not only has Ekta denied the same on social media but she also shared her excitement about working with the entire cast.
According to recent news reports, Ekta Kapoor had indicated that she prefers to invest only in profitable ventures. Adding that it eventually boils down to business, Ekta had apparently stated that she isn’t sure about whether she would invest in Veere Di Wedding or any other film for that matter because she is looking at it from a crowd puller perspective. She had reportedly added that the content has to be bang on to gain monetary profits.
It was also reported that Ekta Kapoor spoke about how Indians are inclined towards male-oriented films and how she had to tweak The Dirty Picture by adding sassy elements in order to maintain the entertainment quotient.
But soon after, Ekta Kapoor took to Instagram to share this picture with a post, as a clarification about the ongoing rumours of her backing out of Veere Di Wedding. Along with this image, the producer also shared this note saying, “@ruchikaakapoor will hate me robbing her chance for a formal announcement! But wat d hell! @balajimotionpictures on board wid it’s favourite n most loved venture!!!bring it on!!! #lovemyveeres.”
As seen in the picture, Veere Di Wedding, co-produced by Rhea Kapoor also stars Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania along with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor. The film is slated to go on floor this summer.
