Amul is not just another dairy company. It uses amazing marketing strategy involving current big news to promote their brand like no other. The play of words that they adopt each time is amazing. It’s bang on for any and every kind of event – death, marriage, scam, elections etc.
Now that Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have got married, there’s no way that Amul would have ignored the ‘shaadi’ of the year. And sure enough, yesterday, they uploaded their creation on their social media handles. It does a pun on the famous Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge song, ‘Mehndi Laga Ke Rakhna, Doli Saja Ke Rakhna’. But instead of Doli, they have used the word ‘Kohli’! The cute Amul mascot turns costume designer and is seen adjusting Anushka Sharma’s lovely wedding wear. Virat Kohli, on the other hand, is seen with a plate full of slice bread, which is pasted with Amul butter of course. Fans call Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma as ‘Virushka’ and the tagline plays on this by saying ‘Vi rush for maska’!
Virat Kohli and leading actress Anushka Sharma tied the knot in the presence of family members in the Italian town of Tuscany on December 11. The couple tried to keep their marriage plan secret but the media got a whiff of it. They are expected to be back in India tonight. They have kept two wedding receptions – one in Delhi on December 21 and one in Mumbai on December 26.
