Be it the Lakme Fashion Week or specially organised fashion events, they really have become quite a spectacle and not just for their clothes. We have heard of fashion faux pas, wardrobe malfunction but there’s a new one in town, it’s called ramp-clumsy. And the latest one who just suffered from it is none other than the new gal on the block, Sonakshi Sinha. At the Blender’s Pride Fashion Tour 2010, Leela Palace Kempinski, Bangalore, Gavin C Miguel showcased his collection called Rated U. It consisted of voluminous flairs, sharp cuts, and edgy crystal embellishments. Well the design was certainly edgy as the showstopper for the designer Sonaskshi Sinha, tumbled down just as she took her first step to walk down that ramp. The "voluminous" skirt didn’t flow as it should have but instead gathered under her step making her fall. Earlier in the week, Sridevi faced a similar problem as she wore a gown by Neeta Lulla with an ill designed skirt from the waist down. Well this just goes to show how amateurish our designers can be when they fail to understand the importance of their showstopper’s grace on the ramp. If you don’t give the right fit, nip and tuck, how can you expect an elegant walk? Sonakshi, post the fall, quickly composed herself and did a fabulous walk but she didn’t return to walk the designer down as is the usual custom.
