USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Earlier we reported that Ranbir Kapoor will be playing the role of a mythological superhero in Ayan Mukerji's next and now it is official that Alia Bhatt will be paired opposite the actor in the film.
Karan Johar confirmed the news on Twitter, saying, "AYAN MUKERJI's next for Dharma productions is slated to begin mid next year and release December 23rd,2016. RANBIR KAPOOR and ALIA BHATT". Ranbir will be following the footsteps of Hrithik Roshan since the actor revealed that he will be playing a different hero with some super powers in the film. However, the details of Alia's character are still being kept under wraps. Ayan's untitled next will be a fantasy film with mythological backdrop and it being one of the filmmaker's ambitious projects, we hear that it will be shot in an expensive set.
Alia has always been a self confessed fan of Ranbir and with this film we will see them coming together for the first time. Prior to this, there were speculations about Alia doing Imtiaz Ali's Tamasha with Ranbir, however, later it was Deepika Padukone who was announced to be the leading lady of the film.
Director Ayan Mukerji has been a part of Dharma Productions since his debut and has made Wake Up Sid and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani under the banner. This will be his third film with the production house.
Currently, Ranbir is juggling between multiple films that includes Bombay Velvet, Tamasha and Roy while Alia is busy preparing for the Shahid Kapoor starrer Shandaar.
