USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Salman Khan may be lending his voice for Sooraj Pancholi in Hero by singing the title song. However, John Abraham isn't far behind. For his Welcome Back, he has sung an entire song and that too for himself. Titled 'Time Lagaye Kaiko, Arrey Ban Ja Meri Baiko', it is a 'tapori' number on the lines of 'Aati Kya Khandala'.

"John has never sung before and it was the film's director Anees Bazmee who insisted that he sings," informs our source, "This is an out and out tapori number and is a totally new thing for John, especially after films like Madras Cafe, Race 2 and Shootout at Wadala where he played a serious part. However, since he is playing a 'tapori' in Welcome Back, everyone felt that it would be good if he sings a number as well."

The man roped in for the job was Nitin Raikwar. Since he has written 'tapori' numbers for Aamir Khan [ 'Aati Kya Khandala' (Ghulam)] and Shahrukh Khan [ 'Apun Bola Tu Meri Laila' (Josh)] before, he was considered as the best bet. As for the composer, Anu Malik stepped in and he has come up with a kind of composition which has a 90s flavor to it. This isn't all as John Abraham's female companion in the song is Anu Malik's daughter Anmol Malik.

"This one is a funny number where John is wooing Shruti Haasan and the latter wants her brothers Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar to know about it first. John has sung this one in a husky tone and done a rather decent job as a singer. Of course there is certain rawness that is expected when an actor comes behind the mike. That has been retained though to keep the natural flavor intact," the source adds.

What makes it further exciting is the fact that just when one thought Salman v/s John face/off had been averted with their films arriving on back to back weekends (earlier they were supposed to clash on the same day), the battle between them as singers makes the next four weeks exciting indeed.

While Salman's song has already been released, the makers of Welcome Back would be unveiling the John Abraham version pretty soon as well. That should indeed heat up the affairs.
