New Jonglei State Government Formed in Sudan

The State Governor Kuol Manyang Juuk announced the new government on Monday and was subsequently endorsed by the State Legislative Assembly on the same day.

In the new government, the numbers of ministerial positions have been increased from 9 to 15 as well as the creation of the Anti-corruption and Public Service Commissions.

The County Commissioners and advisors were also named.

The SPLM forms the bulk of the new Ministers while the National Congress Party (NCP) is yet to nominate a minister to take the Physical Infrastructure docket.

Below are the new appointments:

James Mayen Oka – Minster of Legal Affairs
Ding Akol Ding – Minister of Local Government

Aquila Maluth Mam – Minister of Finance and Economic Planning
Mayen Ngor Atem – Minister of Agriculture and Forestry
Rachael Nyandak Paul – Minister of Public Services and Labour
Mrs Potho Ojulu Okoth – Minister of Cooperatives and Rural Development
Nyang Lul Gai – Minister of Fisheries and Livestock
Ogato Cham Gilo – Minister of Social Services
Mrs Redentia Alphorns Arop – Minister of Health
