Suspect Tiffany Chatel Haysten charged with intoxication manslaughter in connection to a fatal traffic accident at 2000 Southwest Freeway Service Road

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident at 2000 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) service road about 2:20 a.m. on Saturday (Dec. 13).

The suspect, Tiffany Chatel Haysten (b/f, 35), is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 351st State District Court. 

The male victim, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Nickerson and Officer B. Collins reported:

The suspect, Haysten, was a passenger in a gray Isuzu Ascender SUV when she and the driver (the victim) began arguing. The victim then stopped his vehicle, got out, and began walking in the moving lane of traffic. Haysten then got into the driver’s seat and intentionally struck the victim. Haysten was found to be intoxicated. She was subsequently arrested and charged.
