About 66% who took the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) this year are eligible for the Express stream, according to the Ministry of Education (MOE). Of the 42,336 Primary 6 students who received their results earlier today (Nov 21), 66.4 per cent are eligible for the Express course according to Today Online.

It further informed that twenty per cent were eligible for the Normal (Academic) course while 11.2 per cent were eligible for the Normal (Technical) course. Among these students, 41,329 students, or 97.6 per cent, were assessed suitable to proceed to secondary school.  This year 1,007, or 2.4 per cent of students, were assessed to be not ready for secondary school. Of these students, those who have attempted PSLE once may, based on the recommendations of their primary school principals, re-attempt the PSLE in the coming year or apply to Assumption Pathway School (APS) or NorthLight School (NLS). The remaining students who have more than one attempt at PSLE will be offered a place in APS or NLS.

Parents may submit their child’s S1 Options online via the Secondary One Internet System (S1-IS). The S1-IS will be available from 11am today until 3pm on Nov 27 on the MOE S1 Posting website at http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/secondaryone-posting/. Alternatively, parents may submit their child’s S1 options through their child’s primary school. Submission at the primary schools ended at 3pm today but will continue from Nov 24 to Nov 27, from 9am to 3pm.
