38 and 36 yr old Winnipeg men charged with possession of child pornography

On May 28, 2010 members of the Winnipeg Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit were notified that a previously arrested male failed to attend court as directed.

Officers attended an address on Horace Street at which time a 38 year old male was arrested.

On May 31, 2010 members executed a search warrant at the residence at which time adult pornography was located and seized.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the accused failed to notify the courts of the change of his address including, he is not to be in possession of any form of pornography.

He is now facing charges of failing to comply with conditions of a Recognizance x 2.

He was released on a Promise to Appear.

While investigation this matter, investigators discovered that another male was also residing at the same location previously arrested for the possession of Child Abuse Imagery.

The investigation subsequently revealed that the 36 year old male had been accessing the internet contrary to release conditions and failed to notify the courts of a change in his address.

He is facing charges of failing to comply with conditions of an Undertaking x 2.

He was released on a Promise to Appear.

    I can only imagine the utter frustration and anger this Police Department is feeling at this moment. To wade through the most sickening, deplorable, incomprehensible images known to adults, just to catch these indivcomment_IDuals, only to have them released on “a promise to appear ” must be shocking!

    On second thought, given the current state of our justice system, the Police must be expecting this kind of support from our “slap on the wrist” Judges and “let’s make a deal” Prosecutors!
