Yvonne Coleman charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the death of Dennis Traylor

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man at 5110 Van Fleet on Saturday, May 8.

Yvonne Coleman (b/f, DOB: 8-31-74) is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 339th State District Court. She is accused in the death of Dennis Traylor, 44, of the above address. Mr. Traylor suffered a stab wound to the torso and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on Wednesday, May 12.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Carrillo and Senior Police Officer H. Chavez reported:

Coleman and Mr. Traylor were involved in an argument at the residence on Van Fleet. During the confrontation Coleman stabbed Mr. Traylor. Coleman had been visiting the location as a guest of Mr. Traylor’s nephew. She remained on the scene and was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

An upgraded charge of murder is pending against Coleman.
