Gladys Bridger of Hamilton killed in a car crash

The Hamilton Police Service is investigating the City’s 11th traffic fatality and is looking for witnesses to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit.

On Friday, July 2nd, 2010 at approximately 3:58 p.m., a personal injury collision took place on Garner Road near Anson Drive in Ancaster. A pick up truck traveling on Garner Road crossed the centre line into the on coming traffic and collided head on with a passenger car. The 68 year-old Hamilton man driving the pick up truck was treated at the scene and did not require medical assistance. The passenger car was occupied by an 87 year-old female driver and her 86 year-old female passenger. Both involved elderly females were taken by ambulance to hospital with what were believed to be serious injuries. Hospital staff informed police the injuries were non-life threatening injuries.

On Saturday, July 3rd, at approximately 11:15 p.m. Gladys Bridger of Hamilton, the 87 year-old driver, succumbed to the injuries received in the collision. The 86 year-old female passenger from Ancaster remains in hospital in stable condition with injuries to both her legs.
