High risk offender Alwin Colin Benson on the loose in Vancouver

The Vancouver Police Department believes that compelling circumstances exist requiring the Department to warn the public that Alwin Colin Benson poses a risk of significant harm to the safety of adolescent males and adult females in the City of Vancouver.

Benson has a history of sex-related convictions involving children and adolescents and has been assessed as a high risk to re-offend sexually.

Benson has been convicted of two sex assaults and was recently convicted of a sexual assault that was committed while he was out of custody on a long-term supervision order. Benson has been granted statutory release, has unescorted access to the community, and will be residing in the City of Vancouver.

Benson is a 49 year old aboriginal male, 6’ tall and 215 lbs. He has short dark brown hair and brown eyes and he normally wears prescription glasses.

Benson must abide by the following conditions of both his statutory release and current long-term (10 year) supervision order:

· Report all relationships with females to your parole supervisor

· Abstain from intoxicants

· Not to enter establishments where the primary source of income is derived from the sale of alcohol

· No contact with any person under the age of eighteen without supervision

· Not to possess weapons
