Spreading the investigative horizon of IPL 6 spot-fixing cases, Mumbai Police has reached Chennai to grill Srinivasan’s son-in-law and CEO of the Chennai Super Kings, Gurunath Meiyappan and other senior officials of the CSK on Wednesday.

Police has arrested Bollywood actor Vindoo Dara Singh after a detained bookie took his name during interrogation. The officials traced Singh’s calls to Chennai over the last six months and discovered regular contact with Meiyappan. Despite Singh claiming that the calls were made due to personal reasons, a police team has reached Chennai to question Meiyappan. Apparently, Meiyappan is not at his residence and has not been available for any comment on his name surfacing in the fixing scandal in the Indian Premiere League.

Moreover, the name of a rising Delhi Ranji player is also appearing in investigations. The profile of this star was found in a bookie’s social networking account. Allegedly, the hype built around the player and the manner in which he got out in the matches he played in the current T20 league has stirred the suspicion of investigators.

When asked whether the police could have arrested more cricketers, the Delhi Police chief said, “We were informed about only three players. So we gathered evidence against them. We decided to arrest them after they delivered their promises to the bookies. We had video footage of the three players.”
