The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) which is headed by Altaf Hussain, this Sunday ended its protest against the killing of its workers while they were in police custody. As this brought some relief for the Sindh government, MQM added that it is calling for a shutter-down strike for tomorrow.

Local channels further informed that the MQM leaders and workers staged a protest outside the Chief Minister House last night with the bodies of their two workers Faraz Alam and Nadeem Ahmed. They demanded the Sindh government and the Chief Minister to order an effective probe in to the killing of their workers. The party also said that neither the Chief Minister or any of the cabinet members tried to contact the protestors and listen to their demands.

Pakistan Today informs that on Sunday morning, MQM leader Haider Abbas Rizvi announced that the party has decided to end the protest but gave a call for a shutter-down strike in Karachi on Monday. The Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon appealed to MQM to reconsider their call for strike on Monday while assuring them that their demands of a judicial probe and suspension of the accused policemen will be fulfilled.
