On Sunday August 23, 2012 Stage 6 will be started in Tour of Spain, as the John Degenkolb won stage 5 of the Vuelta a Epaña with a blazing twist of speed in Logrono. This is his second win in a week with the help of his unmatchable speed.
Stage 6 has a medium mountains category with a total 1,070m high point over a distance of 174.8km; it starts from Tarazona to Jaca.
This stage is not so difficult in terms of sloppy way started at the final 20km or so. Directing from Rioja into Aragon, it ends in the winter resort of Jaca. Just before Jaca, at the Puerto de Oroel, which is the highest of the pair but far trouble-free than the Alto Fuerte de Rapitán, the riders will deal with the first of two cat 3 climbs.
The candidates will have to take extra care during the climax of this phase. It finishes in the old part of Jaca subsequent to a 3km climb that could be intense. It will suit controlled players and their attack could break the bunch before the end.
