Canada’s men’s U-17 team will gather this 19-29 May in Sunrise, FL for a preparation camp in advance of next month’s FIFA U-17 World Cup. The 11-day camp will feature 24 players as coach Sean Fleming sets his sights on his final 21-player roster.

"This will be the first time we will have all our players since the CONCACAF Under-17 Championship," said head coach Fleming. "It will be a great opportunity to get the final preparations in for the FIFA U-17 World Cup as well for the players to impress to claim a final roster spot."

Of note, Ismaïl Benomar was unavailable for this camp because of injury.

This Tuesday 17 May, Canada will learn of its opponents for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Mexico 2011. The Official Draw for the 24-team competition takes place in Ciudad Mexico. The FIFA U-17 World Cup then runs 18 June to 10 July.

Canada qualified for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in February before it finished second at the 2011 CONCACAF Men’s Under-17 Championship, its best finish ever in the continental competition. The team features players born 1994 or later.
