The unveiling of Toronto’s one and only drag bar, Crews & Tangos Restaurant & Bar (www.crewsandtangos.com), grand opening is this Friday, April 16, 2010 at 7:00pm. Located at 508 Church Street, in the heart of Toronto’s gay village, the two adjoining Victorian houses feature two floors of bars, lounges and dance floors.

"We heard of concerns over homogeneity in the Church-Wellesley village, we want Crews and Tangos to be a space created for multi-ethnic queer events and brings back that something special to the LGBTQ neighbourhood," said co-owner Paras Prashad. "My partner, Michael Ramawad and I worked really hard to maintain its original casual ambience. The renovation is now completed and over time new innovations will be added. There will be something for everyone, including a newly designed main bar in silver and blue, a new concept drag stage, lounge, dance bar and The Zone.”
 
In addition to offering a great drink menu and great fun, yummy snacks and late night finger foods will be offered soon after its opening. The back patio will be available for the LGBTQ sport teams or community groups to host events and gatherings, enjoying happy hours in the afternoon sun.
