Songs at the End of the World: Theatrical Concert Inspired by Herzog’s Antarctica Documentary

REDCAT: Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater (Los Angeles, CA)

"Songs at the End of the World"

For this wildly inventive project, Dutch theater ensemble Wunderbaum combines forces with rock trio Touki Delphine to create a dramaturgical music event. Titled Songs at the End of the World, the absurdly fantastical concert takes visual inspiration from Werner Herzog’s Antarctica documentary Encounters at the End of the World. Appearing in fluffy snowsuits and other more fanciful costumes, Wunderbaum artists will perform a funny and rhythmic song-cycle based on their own childhood dreams and hopes, paralleling the ultimate subject of Herzog’s film.
