The Bata Shoe Museum Founder’s Lecture is an annual, public event featuring an internationally recognized leading thinker engaged with the convergence of culture and society.

This year the BSM is very excited to welcome Dr. Martin Roth, Director of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London for his talk “Addressing Fashion from Cultural Institutions”.

The increase in both museum and public interest in fashion exhibitions is deep rooted in the fact that dress is a complete phenomenon, where history, economy, ethnology and technology converge. At the same time, dress is a very approachable subject; it is a part of everybody’s everyday life.

There will be a reception with the speaker following the lecture.

Monday, November 16th, 7pm

Bata Shoe Museum, 327 Bloor Street West

$50 – Tickets on sale now at www.batashoemuseum.ca or by calling 416-99-7799 x 445.
