Join a FREE Tommy Thompson Park (TPP) guided walk!

Walks take place every Saturday (from July 4 to October 31) and start at 10:00 am. No registration is required.

Walk leaders will guide you along the various trails of Tommy Thompson Park and will provide nature and heritage interpretation along the way. During your walk you will enjoy stunning views of Lake Ontario and the diverse habitats of the park, including meadows, forests and wetlands.

As a globally significant Important Bird Area (IBA), TTP is an excellent place to observe various species of birds. TTP is also home to numerous species of mammals, herpetiles, fish and invertebrates. You may observe some of these animals during your walk and your guide will help you to identify what you see.

The duration of most walks is two to three hours. Routes commonly walked include the Cell One wetland, as well as trips to Embayment D and to the Tommy Thompson Park Bird Research Station (TTPBRS) where bird banding demonstrations take place.

Please meet your walk leader at the Tommy Thompson Park Staff Booth (10 minutes’ walk into the park from the front entrance). Guided walks begin promptly at 10:00 am. Please arrive about 10 minutes ahead of the start time. NOTE: Please check the guided walks online schedule the day before your hike to confirm that it is still taking place – Walks may be cancelled due to inclement weather conditions.

We hope to see you!
