Delve into the stories of immigrant small business owners in an interactive documentary that brings one of Toronto’s most multicultural and vibrant neighbourhoods to life.
Bloorcourt, the stretch of Bloor between Dufferin and Christie Pits, has long-been a destination for new immigrants and continues to change rapidly. Attendees will virtually navigate these ten blocks on iPads, uncovering local history and meeting different business owners, from baker to butcher, shoe cobbler to tattoo artist.
This special live documentary event and installation will take place at La Bella Managua, Canada's only Nicaraguan restaurant and one of Toronto's hidden culinary gems. Attendees can sample Nicaraguan street food, meet the documentary's participants in person, and add their own immigration journey to a collective map that will take shape over the course of the night.
