Sanju is slated to hit screens on June 29 and Sanjay Dutt fans across the globe are eagerly awaiting the same. But before the film hits screens, we hear that prior to making the film, director Rajkumar Hirani had certain preconditions which Sanjay Dutt had to adhere to, failing which Hirani would not make the film.
In a recent interview to Outlook magazine, Hirani revealed what drew him to making a film on Sanjay Dutt saying, “Once you see the film, you will realize that I have not glorified him at all. The truth is that as a filmmaker, I am greedy for content and his life story has amazing content.” Going on further to talk about his pre-condition before commencing work on the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju, Rajkumar Hirani revealed details adding, “I had a precondition before making Sanjay Dutt’s biopic. I asked Sanju if he would have the courage to see a film on his life, which I would shoot exactly the way I heard from him. I made it clear that if he would ever ask me to change this line of hide that scene, I would not make it. ‘Yaar, tere ko jo karna hai, kar (go ahead buddy, do whatever you want to)’ came the reply.”
While hearing this has certainly perked up our interest levels in the film, we also hear that the entire concept of Sanju is based on two major stories in Sanjay Dutt’s life. As for the release of the film, Sanju that also features Anushka Sharma and Sonam Kapoor is slated to hit screens on June 29, 2018.
