The North-east monsoon is officially here and if you are bored of your cuppa hot chocolate, here are some fun drinks that will sure get your spirits high. Hot Irish
 u 1 1/2 oz Irish whiskey
 u 4 oz boiling water
 u 1/2 slice lemon
 u 1 pinch ground cinnamon
METHOD: Pour all the ingredients into a heat-proof goblet. Let it bubble on low flame for about two minutes. Add brown sugar or molasses to sweeten and serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream.
 Goldie
 u 1/4 oz Galliano herbal liqueur
 u 1 1/2 oz dark rum
 u 1/2 tsp powdered sugar
 u 3/4 oz orange juice
 u 1 1/2 oz milk
 u 1/4 oz cream
 u 1 twist orange peel
METHOD: Pour all the ingredients into a heat resistant glass. Let it simmer for 5 minutes till the sugar caramelises to a golden brown colour. Take it off the burner and add the orange peel. Serve with candied fruit.
 Dot’s hot spot
 u 3 oz white grape juice
 u 3 oz dry cider
 u 1 tsp honey
 u 1 cinnamon stick
 u 1 slice lemon
METHOD: Combine all the ingredients together in a small saucepan and heat for a few minutes. Once the cinnamon releases its aroma, strain the liquid into a glass and serve warm with a dot of strawberry syrup.
 Chai toddy
 u 1 1/2 oz spiced rum
 u 1 dash peppermint schnapps
 u 1 tsp honey
 u 4 oz hot tea
METHOD : Brew tea in a saucepan, strain and set aside. Now in another saucepan, combine spiced rum, peppermint schnapps and honey and bring to a boil. Combine the two liquids, strain and serve with a sprig of mint.
