A rare and previously unreleased concert at Brandeis University will make 3rd disc when purchased from Amazon.com.
I can’t tell if I am really excited or not about Bob Dylan’s release tomorrow – The Witmark Demos: 1962-1964 (The Bootleg Series Vol. 9).
The Whitmark Demos are the solo guitar and voice recordings Dylan did to allow his music publisher to notate the music and file copyrights.
I’ve heard some of them before and they are interesting versions of well known songs. The CD is only $14 so it won’t empty my bank to get it.

The Original Mono Recordings
of Bob Dylan’s first 8 LPs at $104 is a pricier decision.
They are:
Bob Dylan
The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan
The Time They Are A-Changin’
Another Side Of Bob Dylan
Bringing It All Back Home
Highway 61 Revisited
Blonde On Blonde
John Wesley Harding
Those are fantastic albums full of great Dylan material. Even the first album Bob Dylan shouldn’t be missed. It has the version of House of the Rising Sun copied by the Animals. It also has Dylan’s first song with drums and backing electric guitar, Corrina Corrina.  The arrangement is very jazzy and for folk music purists absolute heresy.
If don’t have those CD’s or albums already, go for it. I have both the CDs and the LPs and the difference between mono and stereo will be academic at best.

Oh Canada
The bonus concert CD comes with either the Whitmark demos or Mono LPs. In North America, the only place to get the bonus CD is Amazon.com.
In Canada, the Bonus CD comes with the higher priced SKU The Witmark Demos: 1962-1964 (The Bootleg Series Vol. 9) with Brandeis Concert at $23. Amazon.ca also show that as sold out so it may be risky.
Without the bonus CD, Canadian pricing is $19 for 1962-1964 Witmark Demos and $93 for The Original Mono Recordings.

Vinyl versions
Amazon.com have a vinyl bundle without the t-shirt and poster for about $207 US and $260 Can. If you check the SKU for The Witmark Demos: 1962-1964 (The Bootleg Series Vol. 9) (Vinyl) or The Original Mono Recordings (Vinyl) there should be a three-pack bundle for $208.
The same bundle on Canada is a stunning $367.

Sony
has other offers of T-shirts, posters and vinyl LP versions that take you up to $350 for the ultimate collection. With shipping the package can cost over $400.
I ordered the Beatles Mono – peer pressure – and they sound so much like the stereo one’s I’m scratching my head.
Notwithstanding that, I ordered both CD sets from the Amazon.com. How’s that for self control eh? Didn’t even think about the vinyl and t-shirts but I did order the Amazon.com vinyl
bundle. OK so I can’t resist much.
