His home return follows a series of talks mediated by the Intergovernmental Authority for Development (IGAD) in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa ending the feud between the two rivals.
The UN chose to transport the top opposition leader to Juba after the withdrawal of a plane earlier sponsored by US which said it was disappointed by the continuous delay of his arrival.
On Monday, the SPLA-IO Chief of General Staff, 1st Lt. General Simon Gatwech Dual together with 195 soldiers and their weapons arrived Juba including the Inspector General of Police for the SPLA-IO John Jock.
The plane also brought 20 PKMs and 20 RPGs, which were agreed by the government and opposition last week for the arrival of SPLM-IO Chairman.
