Conversations with guests and volunteers, I watch keenly at the questions that come up during the conversations……….listening to the questions, one realizes that people are asking questions of others, mostly based on their own fears…….so what answer does one give to these questions……they are not my fears, how do I know what to say………..what happens next is “second guessing”, listening to the questions, as I try to provide answers, hours and hours are spent in this kind of word exchange……..yes we are social beings, and we group and gather, sharing thoughts, and ideas, interacting while eating, working, playing and generally living……..what I am learning is to listen, and listen without my own thoughts interfering as I listen, and then what happens is that maybe I don’t have the answers. So maybe we don’t need answers; sometimes we don’t need any questions and sometime we don’t need the answers. Conversations and meetings become an interaction and an exploration of thoughts, ideas and words.
Tu Eres Mi Otro Yo – (You Are My Other Self). A Mayan concept of unity, we learn to be ourselves through our relationships with others.
