Eight people face drug/firearm charges in Toronto

On Wednesday, September 29, 2010, police executed 12 search warrants at homes and businesses in the Greater Toronto Area in connection with Project Shuffle which started in July 2010.

It is alleged that:

– police seized $103,220 cash, 125.20 grams of cocaine, 809.95 grams of crack cocaine, 30.8 grams of marijuana, 26 pills of ecstasy, two vehicles, two loaded handguns, a Taser, pepper spray and body armour.

Donovan Hibbert, 47, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) Possession for the Purpose Cocaine,
2) Possession for the Purpose Marijuana,
3) Possession of Controlled Substance,
4) Fail to attend court.

Renee Thompson, 18, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) Possession of Proceeds of Crime,
2) Possession for the Purpose Cocaine,
3) Unauthorized possession of a firearm,
4) Unauthorized possession of a firearm,
5) Careless storage of a firearm,
6) Careless storage of a firearm,
7) Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition,
8) Possession of firearm obtained by the commission of an offence,
9) Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized,
10) Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized,
11) Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition,
12) Possession of firearm obtained by the commission of an offence,
13) Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon,
14) Possession Property obtained by Crime,
15) Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device,
16) Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device.

Demar Dwyer, 24, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) Possession of Proceeds of Crime,
2) Possession for the Purpose Cocaine,
3) Unauthorized possession of a firearm,
4) Unauthorized possession of a firearm,
5) Careless storage of a firearm,
6) Careless storage of a firearm,
7) Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition,
8) Possession of firearm obtained by the commission of an offence,
9) Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized,
10) Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized,
11) Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition,
12) Possession of firearm obtained by the commission of an offence,
13) Possession of firearm while prohibited,
14) Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon,
15) Possession Property obtained by Crime,
16) Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device,
17) Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device,
18) Conditional Sentence Order Breach.

Woddie Miller, 54, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) Possession of Proceeds of Crime.

Curtis Clarke, 47, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) Traffic in Cocaine,
2) Possession of Proceeds of Crime.

Anthony Robinson, 44, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) Traffic in Cocaine,
2) Possession of Proceeds of Crime,
3) Possession for the Purpose Cocaine,
4) Possession for the Purpose Marijuana,
5) Possession of Proceeds of Crime,
6) Possession of Controlled Substance.

Leon Bookal, 37, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) Traffic in Cocaine,
2) Possession of Proceeds of Crime,
3) Traffic in Cocaine,
4) Possession of Proceeds of Crime,
5) Traffic in Cocaine,
6) Possession of Proceeds of Crime,
7) Possession for the Purpose Cocaine,
8) Possession of Proceeds of Crime.

Melbourne Meggo, 37, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1) Traffic in Cocaine,
2) Possession of Proceeds of Crime,
3) Traffic in Cocaine,
4) Possession of Proceeds of Crime,
5) Traffic in Cocaine,
6) Possession of Proceeds of Crime,
7) Traffic in Cocaine,
8) Possession of Proceeds of Crime,
9) Traffic in Cocaine,
10) Possession of Proceeds of Crime,
11) Traffic in Cocaine,
12) Possession of Proceeds of Crime,
13) Possession of Proceeds of Crime.

They were scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Wednesday, September 29, 2010, room 101, at 10 a.m.
