Officers from the MPS Homicide & Serious Crime Command are appealing for witnesses and information following a murder in Leyton.

Police were called at 15:20hrs on Monday, 29 November, to reports of a man stabbed in Capworth Street E10.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended. A 33-year-old man was taken to the Royal London Hospital where he died shortly after arrival.

The victim has been formally identified as Sylvester Senyah, aged 33, of the Leyton area.

A post-mortem examination will be held at 14:30hrs on Tuesday, 30 November, at Walthamstow Mortuary.

At this early stage, officers retain an open mind as to any motive.

It appears that the deceased was stabbed during a fight with two other men.

The two suspects made off on foot. Both are described as black men, aged in their 20s or 30s and between 5’10 and 5’11 in height.

Officers are also keen to trace the victim’s car. It is a black VW Golf, believed to be an R32 model with alloy wheels and a silver grille. The index number is not known at this time.

There have been no arrests. Enquiries continue.
