Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts (Beverly Hills, CA)
From the moment its doors were opened in 1778, Milan’s Teatro alla Scala has been a world-renowned opera house, hosting premieres from the likes of Salieri, Rossini, Verdi and Puccini. Countless master musicians have played within its grand confines, and now three of them are coming to Los Angeles for an evening of chamber music at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. First viola soloist Danilo Rossi and principal clarinetist Fabrizio Meloni of La Scala will join pianist Nazzareno Carusi, who’s played everywhere from La Scala to Carnegie Hall. These three are among the finest in the world at their chosen instruments, and you can hear them in a program that includes Schubert’s Arepeggione Sonata for viola and piano; Schumann’s Märchenerzählungen for piano, clarinet and viola; Poulenc’s Sonata for clarinet and piano; and Mozart’s Trio in E flat major.
