Following a Crime Stoppers tip, Shawn Mcwilliams was arrested on August 9th, only a few hours after police asked for assistance in locating him.

Mcwilliams was arrested without incident in the 1800 block of Commercial Drive by officers from the Vancouver Police Department. Mcwilliams attended court yesterday in Surrey.

Richmond RCMP would like to take this opportunity to thank the community, as well as our various media outlets in helping police capture a very dangerous offender.

Richmond RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a dangerous, high risk domestic violence offender in relation to a number of outstanding warrants of arrest.

Shawn George James Mcwilliams has an extensive criminal history for a variety of offenses dating back to 1989. Mcwilliams is currently wanted on 19 counts of breaching court ordered conditions, as well as two counts of Assault With a Weapon, six counts of Assault, two counts of Pointing a Firearm, Forcible Confinement, Uttering Threats, Anal Intercourse, Sexual Assault, Sexual Assault With a Weapon & Kidnapping.

Mcwilliams is of no fixed address & is known to work in the construction trades. He is described as a Caucasian male, 40 years old, 6′ tall, 194 lbs with hazel eyes & balding, brown hair. Mcwilliams has a tribal tattoo on his right upper arm & sometimes goes by the name of James Mcwilliams.

Mcwilliams owns a white 2010 Ford F150 truck, Alberta license plate BBR 7366 that resembles one of the 2010 Ford F150 bodies as in the attached photos.
