Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau have made an arrest in relation to a fail to remain that took the life of a gas station attendant.

On Thursday, May 19, 2011, at 4:54 pm, the accused pumped a quantity of gasoline at the Petro Canada gas station located at Southdown Road and Truscott Drive.  The accused, who was driving a beige Nissan Altima, attempted to flee the gas station without paying. The lone attendant, Mr. Hashem ATIFEH RAD chased after the vehicle and caught up with it as it was leaving the gas station lot. There was contact between Mr. ATIFEH RAD and the accused’s vehicle, resulting in serious injuries to the victim. Mr. ATIFEH RAD succumbed to his injuries on May 20, 2011.

After an extensive five month investigation, members of the Major Collision Bureau have arrested 22 year-old Abdullahi MOHAMOUD of Mississauga. 

Mr. MOHAMOUD is facing charges of Fail to Remain Causing Death, Criminal Negligence Causing Death, Theft Under $5000.00, and Breach of Recognizance. He will make his first court appearance on Monday, October 17, 2011.
